Materials
3D printing materials are substances used to create three-dimensional objects through additive manufacturing processes. These materials are available in different types, each with unique properties and uses:
PLA (polylactic acid): PLA is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources such as corn. It is easy to print, which makes it suitable for beginners. PLA is known for its low toxicity, vibrant colours and minimal warping, but may not be suitable for high temperature applications.
ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene): ABS is a durable, impact-resistant thermoplastic often used for functional parts. It can withstand higher temperatures than PLA, but requires a heated print bed to prevent warping. It is often used in the automotive and electronics industries.
Feasibility
The possibility of using a 3D printer depends on various factors, including your specific needs, intended applications, budget and technical knowledge.

3D MODELLING
3D modelling is the process of creating three-dimensional digital representations of objects, figures or environments. Modellers use specialised software to create 3D models made up of points, edges and faces to create complex shapes and structures.
3D SCANNING
3D scanning is the process of capturing the 3D shape and details of objects or environments in the real world and converting them into digital 3D models. This is usually done using specialised hardware such as laser scanners, structured light scanners or photogrammetry.
